Police: Burning 'mannequin' was actually dead person
Police are searching for answers after a burned body was found outside of a Michael’s store in Florida Monday morning.
Just before 7 a.m., a 911-caller told police that a mannequin was on fire behind the store, Al Xiques, a spokesman for Pembroke Pines police said.
When the fire department arrived they realized that the mannequin was actually the body of a human being, Xiques said.
The body was still burning when the fire department arrived.
According to Xiques, the deceased person was a black male between 17 and 30.
"It's a broad range age range, but due to the extent of the injuries suffered we are unable to determine the exact age," Xiques said.
The victim has not been identified.
