Chinese couple marries 590 feet in air, suspended by ropes
Walking across China’s glass suspension bridge isn’t for the faint of heart, and dangling underneath it could be called crazy. One couple did just that — they married under the bridge suspended 590-feet in the air.
Bride Jiang Huizhu and groom Zhou Wenlong were lowered on what looks like a stretcher beneath the Shiniuzhai bridge, Reuters reports.
The 590-foot-long Shiniuzhai bridge is also known as Brave Men's Bridge, because those walking across it can see straight down through the glass, giving the impression nothing is holding them up. When Jiang Huizhu and Zhou Wenlong hung underneath it on Chinese Valentine's Day, Aug. 9, spectators had an amazing view, the BBC reports.
"(It's to) challenge ourselves...We'd like to celebrate the festival in a special way," the bride told Reuters.
