Australian dad under investigation after filming son, 5, doing burnouts

An Australian dad who posted a video of his five-year-old son doing burnouts in a sports car is under investigation by child services, according to local media reports.

Alex Dobson of Queensland posted video on Facebook of his 5-year-old son burning rubber last week.

"When your 5-year-old says... 'Dad, can I do a burnout?' 'Sure son, no worries,'” Dobson said in the Sept. 21 post.

Dobson said the video, which has been viewed over four million times, was shot in a private driveway.  He also shared some parenting advice: “Remember a car addiction stops a drug addiction.”

In the video, the five-year-old puts the gas pedal to the floor and smoke billows out from the back tires as the car remains stationary.

When the five-year-old takes a break, Dobson walks over to the car and high fives his son.

While Dobson may have thought the video was humorous, the  Queensland Police and child protection officers aren’t laughing, news.com.au reported.

Police seized Dobson’s vehicle and are in the process of investigating, according to news.com.au.

Dobson told Australia's 9News that while his child was never in harm, he is beginning to regret the incident " because of how far it's gone and the consequences.”
