Iceland goes dark for Northern Lights
Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, went dark overnight to let visitors and residents enjoy "the unforgettable opportunity to view the dancing lights of the Aurora Borealis."

The lights were turned off in Reykjavik, Iceland, on Wednesday so people could clearly see the Northern Lights, according to local reports.
Iceland Monitor reported the Reykjavik City Council turned off street lights in certain parts of the city between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. to avoid light pollution. According to the site, many residents followed suit.
The best time to see the Northern Lights in Iceland is between September and mid-April, according to NorthernLightsIceland.com.
