Kansas City tells family to remove sign of their missing daughter
Kansas City officials recently told a couple to remove a banner on their home asking passersby for help bringing their child back.
Five years ago, the couple’s 10-month old daughter disappeared. Since her disappearance, parents Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin have continued to post signs on and around their home with photos of the child, The Kansas City Star reports.
An anonymous tip led city officials to measure the signs and request the parents remove at least one sign which says "This house needs Lisa to make it home again. Help bring Lisa home," News Channel 10 reports. The city code allows for no more than 16-square-feet of signs on residential property, according to Channel 10.
Bradley said she will remove the sign after a prayer vigil held this weekend.
"It's hard because we feel like we can't do a whole lot for her and this is one of the things that we can do for her," Bradley told FOX 4 News in Kansas City. "We just don't want her to think that we stopped thinking about her and that we don't care."
In 2013, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children created an image of what Lisa might look like and shared it on Facebook. That image is a part of some of the signs the girl's parents have in their lawn.
