This bus driver gave preference to kids who supported Trump

An upstate New York bus driver who allegedly rewarded students who said they’d vote for Donald Trump will be apologizing, according to local reports.

The driver, whose name was not released, reportedly asked children on the bus Nov. 9 who they would have voted for in the election — Trump or Hillary Clinton. The bus driver then told the students who answered “Trump” to get off the bus first, News 8 WROC Rochester reports. Parents alerted the district.

In a statement shared on News 8 WROC, the school district said, “the community has high expectations of us for leadership and thoughtfulness regarding confusing issues. We take that expectation very seriously and strive to serve as role models and educators for our students. When that does not occur in the Canandaigua City School District, we take appropriate action.”

The bus driver will write an apology to everyone involved, according to the AP. It's unclear if the driver will face further disciplinary action.
