Speed through a canyon on a longboard in VR
Imagine you’re speeding down the winding roads of scenic Tuna Canyon in Malibu, Calif., darting downhill and around corners at speeds over 50 mph. Beautiful, right? Now imagine there’s nothing between you and a body full of broken bones save a helmet, your reflexes and the power of concentration.
Enter VRtually There, a weekly video series from the Paste BN network. Using some of the latest state-of-the-art virtual reality technology, they’re giving us a 360 degree first-hand look at how it feels to go longboarding at breakneck speeds.
That might be scary to us, but it’s a way of life for longboarders Alex Colorito, Riley Irvine and Kalil Hammouri, who thrill at the speed and freedom. Whip through the canyon with them at daring speeds without ever breaking stride. The best part? A longboard is way cheaper than a racecar.
Check out the full video below, which also includes some trippy, immersive footage of the art and mayhem at this year’s Burning Man festival. To get the epic 360 degree experience, download the Paste BN app and search for the video in the “VR” section, or view the video below in your phone’s YouTube app.
