Teen jumps off school bus, rescues dog from burning house

PHOENIX — A 14-year-old boy jumped off a school bus Friday morning to save his dog from a fire in his home.

The Phoenix Fire Department said the boy noticed smoke coming from his house so he got off the bus and ran home to open the back door so his dog could escape.

Firefighters later extinguished the blaze. The dog, named Zach, was safe, but the house received extensive damage.

GoFundMe account has been set up by a family member.
