Ellen teased #NuggsforCarter and issued a new challenge
Ellen DeGeneres teased Nevada teen Carter Wilkerson's #NuggsForCarter tweet during her show on Thursday by issuing a challenge to her audience: If you retweet him, please also retweet her record-breaking Oscar's tweet.
"Anyone who retweets Carter's tweet should retweet mine; that way I retain my title," DeGeneres said. "If I can ride your coat tails to 18 million retweets I'll give you a year's supply of Ellen underwear and this 55-inch Roku TV."
Seriously, this is still happening in 2017. If you don't know what this is about already, I can't help you.
#NuggsForCarter now the second highest retweeted tweet in all the land
Her Oscar selfie tweet still holds the record for most retweeted tweet of all time at 3.3 million retweets and is currently regaining traction since it posted three years ago. Wilkerson is the second most retweeted tweet of all time currently at 2.8 million and gaining.
"But no chickens were harmed in the making of mine," she said on the show. DeGeneres previously said she is a vegan.
DeGeneres listed all the achievements she made in life to get to her record-breaking tweet: Started a sitcom, came out as gay, then lost everything, then came back with a talk show, then hosted the Oscars, then hosted the Oscars again and finally got all the most famous stars together for a selfie and posted it on Twitter.
Meanwhile, if Wilkerson beats DeGeneres, Wendy's agreed to donate $100,000 to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
So who are you going retweet?
