#DogsAtPollingStations: The best thing about the U.K. election

Brits went to polling stations across the U.K. Thursday, and many brought their furry friends to the ballot box.

The election is expected to return Conservative Prime Minister Theresa May to power, although a late surge in the polls for Jeremy Corbyn, head of the opposition Labour Party, hinted that a President Trump-like upset was possible.

Many shared photos of their pets with the hashtag #DogsAtPollingStations.

"Gravy bones for the many not the few #dogsatpollingstations," @Jokatgocat tweeted with a photo of a chocolate lab.
