After video surfaces of runner knocking woman in front of bus, suspect arrested

A man was arrested Thursday after British police asked the public with help identifying a runner who knocked a woman into oncoming traffic.

The 41-year-old man, whose name was not released, was arrested Thursday in Chelsea, Metropolitan Police Services said in a statement. No word on if he tried to run. He was later released pending further inquiries.

The arrested man hasn’t been charged and his name hasn’t been released.

Last week, the runner was captured on video barreling into a woman, who was thrown in front of an oncoming bus on Putney Bridge in West London. The woman narrowly avoided getting hit by the bus.

Police released the video and a plea to the public to help find the man, who kept running after the incident and even avoided the victim when he ran past again minutes later.
