LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A ham just sold for more than a Rolls-Royce at the Kentucky State Fair.
No, really.
In an old state fair tradition, the 21-pound prized piece of pork was sold for $325,000 at the Kentucky Farm Bureau's 54th annual Ham Breakfast and auction Thursday morning.
The winning bid by Central Bank will go to numerous charities of their choosing. By comparison, a Rolls Royce Wraith has a market price of about $306,000 according to Newsday.
The most expensive ham was bid on in 2014 by Republic Bank and Hermitage Farms with Bridgeman Foods, who paid $2 million.
