Car crashes into crowd at Idaho car show, injures 11

BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Police Department said a driver leaving the parking lot of a car show crashed into several people on a sidewalk.

The agency said 11 people were injured and six hospitalized.

The incident happened about 11 a.m. Saturday as two events took place at the Boise Spectrum, a complex of movie theaters, shops and restaurants.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, but preliminary information shows the driver of a gray Porsche accelerated rapidly as he left the car show, lost control and drove into the crowd. The driver is cooperating with the investigation.

The names or conditions of those injured were not provided.

The Spectrum was the site of two events Saturday: Cars and Coffee, and Rock'N Roll Brews and BBQ.
