Swastikas, racial slurs painted on Virginia bridge

STAUNTON, Va. — A sheriff's office in Virginia is investigating graffiti found on a bridge that included swastikas and racial slurs.
"There's a little bit of everything," said Augusta County sheriff’s Lt. Aaron Le Veck after he viewed the graffiti Tuesday.
The bridge, located in Staunton, was vandalized with white spray paint, including a swastika in the middle of the road.
Le Veck said the Virginia Department of Transportation has been notified of the graffiti.
"They have a crew that will go out and take care of it," he said.
The graffiti on the bridge was reported Sunday, less than a week after numerous recruitment fliers for the Ku Klux Klan were distributed in Staunton, Waynesboro, Augusta County and other areas of the Shenandoah Valley.
