Once-stabbed police K-9 tracks down distraught woman

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Jack the Titusville police K-9 tracked down a distraught woman who was hidden from view in thick grass and brush Wednesday afternoon, officers reported.
About 3 p.m. ET, the woman's worried relatives reported that she had gone missing and was likely going to hurt herself — and she may have had a weapon.
The woman had left on foot near Capron Road, a north-south street that parallels the Florida East Coast Railway tracks cutting through east central Florida.
Police established a perimeter, and Jack tracked the woman's scent for roughly a half-mile before he and K-9 Officer John Cantalupo found the woman about 3:15 p.m.
The woman sustained no known injuries, and she was transported to a hospital.
Jack, a Belgian Malinois, was stabbed by a robbery suspect near Space Coast Regional Airport in November 2015. He was treated by a veterinarian, then returned to duty a few weeks later.
