The biggest day in football has become a time to pay homage to the most majestic of our favorite wide-eyed birds — the superb owl.

Thanks to our unsteady fingers, the Super Bowl typo often leads "superb owl" as a trending item on Twitter. Last year, Google Trends showed each Super Bowl Sunday, searching for superb owl spikes. 

Google Trends shows the term already is spiking this Super Bowl Sunday.

To mark the occasion, wildlife watchers, owl fans and even the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service shared photos of their most superb owls.
