Paste BN wins 3 National Headliner Awards
Paste BN won three National Headliner Awards in an annual contest honoring outstanding journalism in a variety of categories.
• Peter Eisler won first place for "Health, medical and science writing" for his series entitled, "When Health Care Makes You Sick," describing a variety of infections and mistakes that have sickened or led to the deaths of thousands of patients.
• Thomas Frank took second place for "Environmental writing" for his series of stories examining shortcomings in the "green" building movement: "Green Inc.: Environmentalism for Profit."
• A cross-department team won second place for "Journalistic innovation" for the series called "Ghost Factories," which featured a multimedia interactive that explained the dangers left by long-forgotten lead factories across the United States. Alison Young and Peter Eisler were the lead reporters.
