Rule prevents dying girl from lung transplant | USA NOW video
Shannon Rae Green hosts USA NOW for June 5, 2013, covering Sarah Murnaghan, 10 yr old girl, waiting for a lung transplant.
Paste BN, USA NOW, Kaveh Rezaei,
Sarah Murnaghan has end-stage cystic fibrosis, and she's on a ventilator. Doctors say she's medically eligible for an adult lung, but the organization that regulates transplants says only patients 12 and over can get on the waiting list. Pediatric lungs are not often available for transplant.
Watch the video above to see what happened at a congressional meeting when Sarah's case was brought up, and how the Murnaghan family is handling the rule keeping their daughter from receiving an adult lung.
