41-vehicle pileup in Virginia injures 10 people
LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) — Police are investigating a 41-vehicle pileup in Virginia that injured at least 10 people.
The state's Department of Transportation said in a news release that the pileup occurred around 5 p.m. ET Sunday on Interstate 81 in the Lexington area of Rockbridge County. Six tractor-trailers were involved in the pileup.
The multivehicle wreck shut down the southbound lanes for about six hours, causing a 5-mile backup.
