Bomb threat diverts United jet to Phoenix

A bomb threat forced a United Express flight from San Francisco to San Antonio to make an emergency landing in Phoenix on Thursday, authorities said.

United Express Flight 5573, operated by Skywest Airlines, landed at 4:45 p.m. PT (7:45 p.m. ET) at Sky Harbor airport, TheArizona Republic reports. Between 25 and 30 passengers were escorted from the jet, and authorities were sweeping the plane and searching luggage, an airport spokeswoman said.

A bomb squad was dispatched, but no details were immediately provided about the nature of the threat or whether anyone was detained.

No flights out of Sky Harbor were delayed.
