Christmas in July? Family finds deer on roof
EVERGREEN. Colo. — Santa's worldwide journey Christmas Eve takes lots of time and planning, and one of his "helpers" must have been scouting locations this weekend.
Ronald Vincent says he heard the pitter-patter of feet on his rooftop Sunday afternoon.
When he investigated, he spotted a deer, who must have been checking out the landing patterns in Evergreen in preparation for Dec. 24.
Vincent says the nimble animal jumped a 4-foot stone retaining wall onto the roof of his hillside home, which just might be the perfect landing spot for a gift-laden sleigh.
Vincent said he was worried the animal might jump down and get hurt, so he encouraged her safely back off the roof using a long pole.
Come Christmastime, perhaps Vincent and his family will spot Santa's whole team on their roof, now that one deer has already scouted the location for the North Pole.
