3-year-old shot and killed in suspected home invasion

SHREVEPORT, La. — A 3-year-old girl shot in the head during a suspected home invasion has died, her family confirmed Saturday.

Paris Hill was shot around noon Friday and was being treated at University Health Medical Center.

"She got shot in my arms," said Alonzo Hill, the girl's father.

He recounted preparing to leave his brown brick house when an unknown man came through the unlocked side kitchen door, intending to rob the family, and fired.

"He disappeared," Hill said. A bullet hole, tagged by police, was visible in the ceiling of the adjacent living room Friday afternoon.

Paris and her twin, Lundyn, turned 3 on Halloween. In a photo provided by the girls' mother, Paris is seen celebrating her birthday, holding up three fingers.

Hill said he and his family just moved to the neighborhood of modest one-story houses about two months ago from Stoner Hill and don't know anyone in the neighborhood.

Hill said he has no idea who the intruder could have been.

Police have made no arrests but say they have a suspect.
