N.Y. woman run over by her own car

CENTER MORICHES, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a woman has been run over and crushed by her own car on Long Island.

The Suffolk County Police Department said Sunday the woman died at the scene of the accident in Center Moriches (mohr-ICH'-ez).

Police identified her as 50-year-old Jennifer T. Feuerman, of Westhampton.

Detectives believe Feuerman got out of her Mercedes-Benz but left it running on Bowditch Lane around 7 p.m. Saturday. Police say the car backed over her and pinned her under the driver's side door.

The car is undergoing a safety check.
