Terror suspect moved to Kentucky jail

CINCINNATI — Christopher Cornell, the Green Township man charged with plotting a terror attack on the U.S. Capitol, is no longer being held in the Butler County Jail.

Cornell has been in the Boone County Jail in Burlington, Ky., since Friday afternoon, according to Lt. Jason Maydak of the Boone County Jail.

"It's common for us to house federal prisoners," Maydak said. "We have a contract with the Marshall's Office that allows us to do so. Federal prisoners that we hold are just pre-trial."

Currently, Boone County Jail records list Cornell as a "federal prisoner held-in transit/court."

Maydak was not able to confirm if Cornell was being held in special confinement due to his case's high profile status.

Cornell is scheduled to appear in court again Thursday.
