Hollywild: USDA found 'no non-compliant' items
INMAN, S.C. — U.S. Department of Agriculture inspectors on Monday did not find any non-compliant items at Hollywild Animal Park, according to Hollywild spokeswoman Kim Atchley.
The visit was in reference to the fire Jan. 9 that led to the deaths of 27 animals from smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire was an electrical short in a light fixture in the primate barn, said Holly Springs Fire Chief Brent Blackwell.
"The report says 'no non-compliant items were found,' which is what we expected, and are now pleased to confirm publicly," Atchley said.
Hollywild plans to open the park for weekends in March and daily starting April 1.
"We continue to invite the public to share in celebrating all that Hollywild offers, and the countless supporters and advocates who have come forward during a very difficult time," Atchley said.
