Winter storm travel bans, closures: What to know Tuesday
While snow levels didn't hit as high in some places as predicted, there's still plenty of storm left to go Tuesday. Here's a state-by-state look at travel bans and outages:
MASSACHUSETTS
• Evacuated: Ocean flood waters rushed in with a 4:30 a.m. tide and the coastal towns of Mashfield, Scituate and Hull evacuated residents. Officials described it as a non-emergency evacuation. The next high tide comes at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
• Dark: Nearly 13,000 Nantucket residents were without power Tuesday morning, according to National Grid. NStar had 8,500 customers without power, mostly on Cape Cod and Boston's south shore.
• Blizzard warning and high wind warning
• Boston's Logan International Airport does not expect flights to resume until late Wednesday.
CONNECTICUT
• Travel ban: The majority of the state is still under driving restrictions, but as of 8:30 a.m., Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is allowing local travel in western counties Fairfield and Litchfield.
NEW YORK
• Subway and PATH trains expected to resume Tuesday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office announced.
• Travel ban lifted for NYC
• Travel bans lifted for the state, except hardest-hit Suffolk County.
• 13 counties are in a state of emergency
• Amtrak service was suspended between New York and Boston for Tuesday, while other regional routes were operating on reduced schedules.
