2 alligators found eating dead body in Florida

Police recovered a human body in South Florida on Monday after they found the corpse being consumed by two alligators in Southwest Ranches, the Sun Sentinel reported.

Police officers arrived at the disturbing scene and saw a body being eaten by the two alligators, Davie Police Capt. Dale Engle told the Sentinel.

The police were able to scare the alligators away from the body that Engle said appeared to be there for a while. The cause of death was not immediately known. A dive team was called to the scene and an alligator trapper from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The body was recovered by 10 p.m., police told the Sentinel.
