5 people hurt after Las Vegas hit-and-run crash

A driver in Las Vegas is in custody after a car fleeing the scene of an accident hit five people, including three children, police said.

Two adults and three children were hospitalized after the crash, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said. Two of the children are in critical condition.

The second crash occurred around 7 p.m. local time (10 p.m. ET) on Lake Mead and Jones boulevards, NBC News reported. The intersection is in a residential area of Las Vegas.

Police said the suspect fled the second scene as well but was later found less than two miles away and taken into custody.
