Dallas police ambushed: What we know
Five police officers were killed and several others were wounded when police were ambushed during a protest in Dallas.

Tributes poured in from across the U.S. and the world Friday for the five police officers killed after gunfire erupted at a protest against police-involved shootings in Dallas on Thursday.
"Today is a wrenching reminder of the sacrifices they make for us," President Obama said, speaking at a NATO meeting in Warsaw, Poland. "The entire city of Dallas is grieving. Police across America, which is a tight-knit family, feels this loss to their core. And we're grieving with them."
