DALLAS - Dallas Police Sr. Cpl. Lorne Ahrens, 48, and Dallas Area Rapid Transit Officer Brent Thompson, 43, were honored with memorial services in Dallas Wednesday.
Paste BN provided live video coverage of the services, which you can watch below.
Ahrens, a father of two and husband to a fellow Dallas Police detective, was affectionately called "Meat." He was remembered during a service at 12 p.m. ET at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.
Police say Officer Thompson died trying to save Ahrens.
Thompson was married two weeks ago to a fellow DART officer and was the first DART officer killed in the line of duty for the department. He'll be remembered during a service at The Potter's House in Dallas at 11 a.m. ET.

Fallen officer's widow: Good will always prevail
The widow of DART officer Brent Thompson, a fellow officer herself, said even though she is heartbroken, she will continue to put on her badge and uniform and serve with her brothers and sisters in blue.
