Texas father kept his son’s corpse in the kitchen for nearly 4 years, police say
Police arrested a Texas man after discovering the remains of his son, who died in 2018, inside his home on Wednesday.
David McMichael, 67, was charged with the abuse of a corpse, the New Boston Police Department said in a statement posted on Facebook.
Police arrived at McMichael's home after a family member requested a wellness check. When they arrived, they asked McMichael if he knew the reason for their visit. McMichael stated their visit was because he had a body in the kitchen, public affairs officer Katie Jimenez told Paste BN.
Inside the home, police found skeleton remains which are believed to belong to Jason McMichael, David McMichael's son who died in May 2018, according to the police department's media statement.
