Decapitated goats found behind Burger King in New York: ‘Ritualistic animal sacrifice’
Two decapitated goats were found in black plastic bags behind a Burger King in New York in what detectives are calling a "ritualistic animal sacrifice," officials said.
The Suffolk County Police Department called the Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) – a nonprofit that services the humane needs in the county – after finding the two goats in Farmingdale on June 29, the county SPCA said in a statement on Facebook Saturday.
“This discovery was found in the rear of Burger King, along with other items that would suggest a ritualistic animal sacrifice,” Roy Gross, head of the Suffolk County SPCA, said in the statement.
The county SPA is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
“All too many times these gruesome finds are discovered not only by adults but occasionally by children,” the county SPCA said in the statement. “These acts of violence must stop now!”
'Ritual sacrifice' in Missouri leads to arrest
In June 2022, Missouri police arrested a woman who stole a dog, killed it and set it on fire as part of a reported ritualistic sacrifice.
A Moberly Police Department spokesperson told Paste BN that officers arrested a 29-year-old woman after her mother dialed 911 asking for help. During the call, Lingo's mother told officials her daughter killed her dog as part of "a ritual sacrifice," according to a probable cause affidavit.
