Doorbell camera catches hungry black bear swipe entire pumpkin off porch
An extra-large and very hairy porch pirate was caught red-handed on Ring doorbell footage last week committing a pumpkin heist.
The gourd-napping happened in Connecticut, where resident Alisa Craig told newswire service Storyful that the furry thief's appearance was unexpected.
“On a Sunday afternoon a big black bear strolled up to our front porch and casually grabbed our pumpkin for a nice healthy lunch," she said.
In the security camera footage, the rotund bear can be seen lumbering up a set of steps to a festive fall display arranged at the top. Rolling a pumpkin over for inspection, the bandit seemingly surveys its surroundings for witnesses before taking a quick bite.
After its taste test, the bear snatches up the entire pumpkin, makes its way down the stairs, and casually saunters off with its prize.
