One injured in shooting on University of Bridgeport campus; suspect remains at large
The victim suffered a non life-threatening gunshot wound and no other injurers were reported, officials said. A motive is under investigation.

One person was shot Tuesday night on the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut causing the school to be locked down for hours, officials said.
Bridgeport Emergency Operation Center officials reported police responded to the shooting at 6:39 p.m., City of Bridgeport Director of Communications Danielle Wedderburn told Paste BN Wednesday morning
The shooting took place on campus and involved two people in an altercation, Wedderburn said. Officials did not give details about the altercation or say whether any arrests had been made in the case.
The coastal school is in the southwestern part of the state about 20 miles south of New Haven.
One person, whose age and sex was not immediately known, suffered a non life-threatening gunshot wound in the shooting inside a building at the school, officials said.
No other injuries were reported.
The Bridgeport Police Department responded to the scene, and the victim was transported to a hospital to be treated for their injuries.
The parties involved know each other, and neither the victim nor the shooter are students at the university.
Shooting in University of Bridgeport cafeteria placed school on lockdown
On Wednesday police and city officials said there was currently "no active threat” to the community.
The lockdown was lifted early Wednesday morning, Bridgeport EOC officials reported.
"Campus safety is our number one priority," University of Bridgeport President Danielle Wilkin released in a statement. "We will continue to take strong measures to ensure the safety of our community, and we will follow the directives of the Bridgeport Police Department."

Bridgeport police chief called shooting 'isolated incident'
Bridgeport police said the shooting remained under investigation Wednesday.
Police Chief Roderick Porter called the incident isolated in a statement on Facebook and said police presence will remain on campus "until the suspect is brought to justice."
"I would like to give a special thank you to our Detective Bureau and all officers who responded to the scene in a swift manner," the chief said. "We want to reassure students, parents, faculty, and Bridgeport residents that the area is safe."
