One person killed, 2 injured in shooting at Vancouver, Washington mall


A shooting at a mall in Vancouver, Washington Thursday evening left one person dead and two others injured.

The Vancouver Police Department said that it received a report of a shooting in the Vancouver Mall at around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 31.

Vancouver Police Department spokesperson Kim Kapp said at a press conference on Thursday evening that witnesses reported that "an individual shot another individual in the food court area of the mall, and fired several other rounds which struck two other individuals."

When police arrived at the mall, they found one person dead, while two others who were injured were taken to a local hospital.

By late Thursday evening, police stated that there was no longer any active threat at the mall, but the suspect remained at large as of Friday morning.

"Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Major Crime Team are reviewing videos from inside the mall in an attempt to identify the suspect," police said in a statement.
