Man indicted after video captures dogs being tossed over humane society fence in New Jersey

A man who was allegedly caught on video tossing dogs over the fence of a humane society in New Jersey has been indicted by a grand jury on several counts of animal cruelty.

The man, identified as Jahlil McNeal from Atlantic City, New Jersey, was initially arrested during a traffic stop in August, according to local news station WPVI. Police said he was seen on video allegedly walking up to the Humane Society of Atlantic County around 2 a.m. on July 15, NBC Philadelphia reported.

The dog that was left at the humane society, known as Brenda, had very distinct scarring on her back, officials at the humane society told WPVI. They believed it could have been an old injury that could be a burn.

Brenda is now in Texas

According to video obtained by Paste BN from the incident, McNeal is allegedly seen tossing a pit bull mix over the fence.

McNeal is also accused of throwing three other dogs over the fence back in April. He faces charges of animal cruelty, failure to provide requisite veterinary care for the injuries to Brenda, witness tampering, and theft of services, according to court records obtained by Paste BN.

But today Brenda is living a new life. In a Facebook post from July, they said she had been adopted by a family in Texas.

Humane society officials also told WPVI that Brenda is now named Snookie.

Paste BN was not able to immediately find an attorney representing McNeal.
