Ohio poker dealer accused of stealing from the pot at Cleveland casino


The dealer at JACK Cleveland Casino is accused of stealing 14 separate times during a one-month period and has been fired

A former poker dealer in Ohio is being accused of stealing from the pot while he was working in a Cleveland casino.

Jason Saliba, 51, was indicted in an Ohio court on 14 felony counts of violating casino gaming laws and a misdemeanor theft count.

According to an indictment obtained by Paste BN on Monday, Saliba is accused of stealing 14 separate times during a one-month period. The indictment doesn't specify how much was taken.

Saliba was arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court and given a personal bond of $2,500, according to court records

Saliba's attorney did not immediately return Paste BN's message seeking comment Monday

A patron brought light to the situation

According to Ohio Casino Control Commission records obtained by cleveland.com, a patron of the casino accused Saliba of stealing. At the time Saliba was working in the JACK Cleveland Casino poker room.

The report from the patron came on Sept. 6, when they told a casino manager that Saliba was stealing from the pot. Staff then looked through surveillance footage, which the report says showed Saliba taking money from the table five times.

Saliba was then fired the next day.
