18-year-old charged with fatally shooting man during PlayStation sale


An 18-year-old was arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of a man last month who was reportedly trying to sell his PlayStation 5.

On Nov. 24, officers with the Houston Police Department responded to a call about the incident at a hotel room. They were notified that the victim, identified as 37-year-old Tyler McGinty, had "a gunshot wound," according to a press release from the HPD.

Ginty was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead four days later, police said.

McGinty's mother, Tammy Smith, told WLS-TV that her son listed the gaming system for $350 and was at the hotel to complete the sale.

Suspect faces murder charges

Police identified the suspect as Zavion Joshua Pabon. He is facing capital murder and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon charges, according to HPD.

Jail records show that he was booked last Thursday.

"Normal people don't do this. This isn't a normal person. This is a very, very bad individual," Smith said to the news station.
