A dramatic rescue was caught on video in California, as a helicopter rescued two people in kayaks trapped by a high tide.

The San Luis Obispo County Urban Search and Rescue team rescued the two individuals in collaboration with the California Highway Patrol and the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department.

According to reporting from KSBY, the two were stuck on a beach during high tide and were “safe and accounted for.”

Authorities told the local news station that the two stranded people were unable to get back up the road once the tide came in, trapping them on the beach.

Bodycam footage from one of the rescuers shows them lowering a rope into the beach. Once the harnesses are attached to one of the stranded men they are carefully hoisted back to the rescue team waiting at the edge of a cliff above the beach.
