2 dead in Kamaka Air plane crash near Honolulu Airport during training flight: Reports
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
Two people are dead after a plane crashed into a building near the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu, according to reports.
At around 3:15 p.m. local time on Tuesday, Kamaka Air Flight 689 crashed into a vacant building near the Honolulu airport shortly after take-off, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement emailed to Paste BN.
The plane, a single-engine Cessna 208, was headed around 69 miles southeast to Lanai Airport in Lanai City, Hawaii, and carried two passengers.
Both passengers were killed in the crash during a training flight, reported KHON2 and Hawaii News Now.
Videos from the scene of the crash show dark gray smoke pluming out of the building the plane reportedly crashed into, and firefighters work to put out flames around the crash sight.

The FAA is investigating the crash along with the National Transportation Safety Board, who is in charge of the investigation.
Officials have not released the victims' identities, but one of the deceased was reportedly a man in his 20s who was a pilot in training, according to Hawaii News Now.
