Far-right influencer Nick Fuentes says armed man came to his door; man fatally shot by police

White nationalist Nick Fuentes said an armed individual approached his house Wednesday night after his Illinois home's address was leaked on the internet.

Officers responded to a home in Berwyn, Illinois at 11:38 p.m. local time on Wednesday after receiving a "report of a male subject with a gun," the Berwyn Police Department said in a news release.

The man, who authorities did not identify, fled on foot and "successfully escaped" from law enforcement, the release states. The man then forced entry into a nearby home where he fatally shot the two dogs, police said.

The man fled into another neighbor's yard and police gave him verbal commands to stop, which he disobeyed, according to the department. After not cooperating, the man began shooting at the officers, who returned fire, police said.

Police fatally shot the man during the shootout, and no officers were injured during the incident, according to the release.

Police said early reports indicated the man was wanted for a triple homicide committed in Mahomet, Illinois earlier in the day on Wednesday. This incident is now being investigated by the Illinois State Police.

Berwyn police did not name Fuentes in the news release, but Paste BN reviewed Cook County property records that show Fuentes purchased property on the block where officers responded.

'Grateful to God that I am still alive'

Fuentes commented on the incident in a series of X posts shared Thursday afternoon, alleging that the armed individual "made an attempt on my life."

"I am grateful to God that I am still alive today," Fuentes posted on X.

He also shared surveillance video appearing to show a man wielding a crossbow and a gun.

"While heartbreaking, it could have been so unimaginably worse," the post continued. "God have mercy. Doxing is not a game."

This would not be the first time Fuentes was confronted at his home, as the Berwyn Police Department responded to his residence last month after a verbal back-and-forth with 57-year-old Marla Rose, multiple outlets including NBC News reported. In a now-deleted video shared by Rose, Fuentes opens the door, points a spraying device in the direction of the camera, grabs the woman's phone, takes it inside his home and then locks the door, NBC reported.

Fuentes was eventually arrested for the incident on Nov. 27 on a count of misdemeanor battery, according to Cook County court records.

Who is Nick Fuentes?

Fuentes, a former staunch supporter of President-elect Donald Trump, has received backlash for antisemitic and racist comments he has made. Last year, he was removed from the Conservative Political Action Conference over his history of openly promoting antisemitic and racist rhetoric, which includes downplaying the Holocaust.

Fuentes to relocate after incident

In one of the X posts shared by Fuentes about the incident, he wrote, "I will now have to uproot my life and relocate. While I can handle whatever comes to my front door, it is irresponsible to expect my neighbors with young families to share that burden."

Until Fuentes moves, he wrote in the social media post that he is contracting "24-hour security to protect myself and my property."
