A man is being held without bail for allegedly stabbing three of his family members to death, including an 8-year-old girl and teenage boy, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced.

Kyle Chester De Los Reyes, 23, is accused of murdering three of his family members in their Baldwin Park home in Pomona, California around 6:48 p.m. on Dec. 26, Hochman said.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, the three victims were Paul Sebastian Manangan, 16, Rona Nate, 44, and Chantelle Narvaez, 8. It is unclear how the three victims are related to De Los Reyes and why he may have killed them.

“My office will work tirelessly to ensure that justice is served in this devastating act of violence, which has shaken our community and left a family forever changed,” Hochman said in a news release. “Violent crime not only robs us of innocent lives but also threatens the very fabric of our community. Let this be a clear message: those who commit heinous acts of violence will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

De Los Reyes has officially been charged with three counts of murder, Hochman said. He also faces special allegations of use of a deadly weapon and committing multiple murders, he added.

When Baldwin Park police arrived at the family's home, they witnessed De Los Reyes enter a vehicle and speed away, CBS News reported. He was initially detained as a person of interest and subsequently arrested and charged, according to the outlet.

De Los Reyes' arraignment is scheduled to take place on Jan. 15 in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pomona Branch, according to Hochman.
