Airbnb announced Wednesday it is offering free temporary housing to residents impacted by the Los Angeles wildfire.

The company, through its nonprofit arm Airbnb.org, is partnering with 211 LA, a nonprofit that serves Los Angeles County for a variety of resources and services, such as food assistance and shelter, to "provide free, temporary housing for people who have been displaced by the Los Angeles wildfires."

In the announcement, Airbnb said it is "specifically focused on residents who have either lost their home or been forced to evacuate in the Altadena, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Pasadena, Santa Monica and Sylmar areas."

Affected residents can find more information on Airbnb.org and can request assistance for temporary housing support by contacting 211 LA. Those who would like to help by donating or offering a free stay can also find more information on Airbnb.org.

Airbnb.org, which was founded in 2019, has provided more than 1.6 million nights of emergency stays for more than 250,000 people since 2020, according to the company. Last year, Airbnb.org also worked with local organizations to provide temporary housing to those impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
