A man has been arrested in connection with multiple stabbings in Denver that killed two people, including an Arizona flight attendant who was on a layover, and injured two others.

Two people were injured and a woman was killed on Saturday evening after a man stabbed them in the heart of downtown Denver, Denver police said on Monday.

“Officers are investigating two additional stabbings in the area that are possibly related. There is a large police presence in the area as officers investigate circumstances and develop suspect information,” Denver police said in a social media post.

Denver police did not release the identities of the victims of the stabbings, but American Airlines confirmed to Paste BN that one of its flight attendants, 71-year-old Celinda Levno, was stabbed and killed on Saturday.

“We are heartbroken and mourning the tragic loss of our colleague who was the victim of a senseless crime. Our thoughts and support are with her family, loved ones and colleagues, and we are doing all we can to assist law enforcement in its investigation,” the airline said in a statement.

‘Senseless tragedy’

On Sunday, the Association of Professional Flight Attendants released a statement honoring Levno's life.

"We stand in support with Celinda's family, friends, and our colleagues in Phoenix Inflight as they process this senseless tragedy," a statement from the association said. “Celinda's love for her horses, friends, and family will always be remembered.”

To her friends and family, Levno was known as a kind woman, an incredible musician and a true animal lover.

"Everything she did was for everyone else," wrote Josephine Dale, a close friend of Levno's, in a statement to the Arizona Republic, part of the Paste BN Network. "She will now be with us every stride, and her love for horses will be carried on through all of us."

Denver police said Monday that 24-year-old Elijah Caudill was arrested in connection with stabbings that killed Levno and an unidentified man and injured two others.

Police say Caudill is being held on charges of murder and attempted murder. Court records do not list an attorney for Caudill.

Denver court records obtained by Paste BN show that Caudill has had a previous criminal history with four failure-to-appear warrants for misdemeanor arrests of criminal mischief, assault, sexual contact without consent and indecent exposure.
