Disturbing new details released on twerking healthcare worker's felony charges
A Georgia healthcare worker arrested after posting video of her twerking over a disabled patient reportedly uploaded the footage to TikTok to gain social media followers, according to disturbing new details released in the case.
According to court documents obtained by Paste BN Thursday, the disabled woman's guardian also said the accused did so without their consent.
Lucrecia Kormassa Koiyan, 19, is charged with one count of exploitation of a disabled person in connection to the reported incident in Loganville, which was filmed and posted on social media, according to the Loganville Police Department.
The city is about 35 miles northeast of Atlanta.
Police: Twerking healthcare worker employed by SNL Healthcare, LLC
On Thursday, Loganville police Chief M.D. Lowry told Paste BN Koiyan's employer was SNL Healthcare, LLC.
According to its website, the Georgia-based business is state licensed and its care service includes:
- Laundry and linen services
- Assistance with dressing, grooming and bathing
- Home-cooked meals daily, plus snacks
- Medication management
- Daily health monitoring
Paste BN has reached out to the company.
Lowry said his agency was tipped off about the disturbing video on Jan. 23.
The video, reviewed by Paste BN, shows a woman sitting in a chair with the woman, wearing navy scrubs and a stethoscope, standing above her on the chair, filming the dance.
Lowry said detectives opened an investigation, executed a search warrant and arrested Koiyan on Tuesday.
Affidavit: 'Began to rub her genitals on the top of the victim's head'
According to her arrest warrant, the disabled woman was in Koiyan's care when she filmed herself dancing over her as she sat in a handicap-assessable chair at an apartment complex.
"The accused did touch the victim on the head and chest in a provocative manner and began to rub her genitals on the top of the victim's head as she continued to dance," Loganville police Officer Kenneth Raines wrote in the affidavit.
She then uploaded the footage to TikTok "to accumulate views or followers," the warrant continues.
The disabled woman did not appear to consent to the dance, Raines wrote, and her guardian told police "she did not consent to the victim participating in such acts."
Healthcare worker released from jail
Koiyan, of Loganville, was arrested at the same apartment complex where the video was filmed, Lowry told Paste BN.
She was booked into the Walton County Jail where she posted a $7,500 bond on Wednesday, a Walton County Sheriff's Office deputy said.
Paste BN could not immediately find an attorney representing Koiyan.
Lowry said investigators were also reviewing a second video of dancing provocatively over another person who appears to be disabled.
That video, also reviewed by Paste BN, shows the woman standing on a bathtub dancing directly over the other person sitting inside it.
Police still working to determine location of second video
As of Thursday, court records did not show she had been yet charged in connection to a second crime, a Logan County Magistrate Court clerk told Paste BN.
One day earlier, Lowry confirmed detectives were working with law enforcement in other jurisdictions investigating where that footage was shot.
