Photos captured the impact of the atmospheric river that triggered mudslides and significant floods in Southern California this week.

Evacuation warnings were issued for vulnerable locations, including parts of the Los Angeles area hit by deadly wildfires last month. The storm caused mud-covered roads, local school closures and fallen power lines.

By Saturday only 2,760 homes and businesses were without power, down significantly from the more than 21,000 outages throughout Southern California the day before, according to poweroutage.us. Los Angeles reported the most outages Friday with over 12,600 utility customers without power.

Officials continued working Saturday clearing the roads and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department warned residents to "avoid areas with mudflows, debris flows, or high water until deemed safe by local authorities or public officials."

Weekend weather for much of the state is expected to be dry, according to AccuWeather, providing better conditions for crews cleaning up after flooding, mudslides, and heavy snowfall.

Here are photos showing the impact of the storm.
