Driver in deadly Tesla Cybertruck crash had alcohol and cocaine in system, report shows
The crash killed Soren Dixon, 19, Jack Nelson, 20, and Krysta Tsukahara, 19, who graduated from Piedmont High School in 2023.
Autopsy and toxicology results for a driver killed in a fiery Tesla Cybertruck crash in Northern California last year that also claimed the lives of two passengers show he had blood alcohol concentrations more than twice the legal limit at the time of their deaths.
The crash killed Soren Dixon, 19, Jack Nelson, 20, and Krysta Tsukahara, 19, who graduated from Piedmont High School in 2023.
The crash took place on Nov. 27, 2024 around 3 a.m. local time in Piedmont, a small, affluent community enclaved by Oakland in Alameda County.
According to autopsy and toxicology results obtained by Paste BN from the Alameda County Coroner's Office, Dixon had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.195%,more than twice the legal limit for drivers (.08%). The results also show he had cocaine in his system.
Cybertruck jumped, curb, hit tree, then burst into flames
According to a preliminary investigation by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) as well as the autopsy report, the Cybertruck jumped a curb, hit a tree and retaining wall, then came to rest with the front end of the vehicle partly wrapped around the tree.
The Cybertruck, according to the autopsy summary, caught fire and fully burned.
Fourth person also hurt in crash
A fourth person in the SUV who survived was pulled from the burning car at the scene and taken to a hospital, said Piedmont Police Department Capt. Chris Monahan which Paste BN previously reported.
That occupant's mother, Samantha Miller, identified him as her 20-year-old son, Jordan Miller, a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin.
