Watch the 'Firefall' phenomenon at El Capitan inside Yosemite National Park

The annual Horsetail Fall event at Yosemite National Park − also known as the "Firefall"- is back with people vying for the perfect spot in the central California park to see the iconic waterfall glow like an erupting volcano.
Horsetail Fall is located over the eastern ridge of El Capitan, a vertical rock formation on the western side of the national park. According to the National Park Service, the phenomenon happens when its flow is backlit by sunset.
"On rare occasions during mid-to-late February, it can glow orange when it's backlit by sunset,” the National Park Service’s website said.
The park also said conditions need to be optimal for the effect to take place. Skies need to be clear, and any sort of haze or clouds could diminish or altogether stop the waterfall from glowing.
"The Horsetail Fall event is a natural phenomenon that has grown in popularity in recent years," says Yosemite Conservancy.
