Watch as father, son narrowly rescue dog before tornado rips through yard, destroys kennel

Home security footage captured the close call of a father and son who rushed to bring their dog inside before a tornado ripped through their northern Indiana backyard earlier this month.
Lake County resident Anthony Stanley and his son dashed outside their home amid a brutal storm to rescue their dog, who was inside a kennel, according to Storyful. Stanley's Ring camera captured the save, as well as the aftermath of the winds destroying the kennel and an adjacent storage shed just "moments after my son got our puppy out of it."
On March 19, a EF-1 strength tornado touched town in Gary, Indiana, bringing 110 mph winds to the city with more than 67,000 people, the National Weather Service confirmed.
The weather event followed a slate of tornadoes that battered parts of the Mississippi Valley and the South earlier this month. At least 40 people died and hundreds of structures were destroyed across Kansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, Alabama, and Missouri.
Severe weather returned to Indiana this week as a separate system brought heavy downpours and hail to the Midwest, the weather service reported.
Tornadoes forecast on West Coast on Wednesday
Much further west, a few possible tornadoes may touch down in the Pacific Northwest as another weather system brings heavy showers, severe thunderstorms and wind gusts Wednesday, according to the weather service.
Forecasters warn that at least 2 inches of hail may impact the region until Thursday morning.
The service also said the system will eventually reach the Northern Rockies and Southern California by Thursday evening.
