A California man was arrested after he threatened to bomb the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this weekend, authorities said.

Shortly before 11 a.m. local time on April 12, a man driving a Tesla approached security at the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, California, according to the Cathedral City Police Department. The man allegedly told security he planned to bomb the music event located about 16 miles south of the casino, the department added.

Law enforcement patrolling the festival was immediately notified of the threat, the department said.

After locating the vehicle in Palm Springs, authorities arrested a man, later identified as Davis Darvish, 40, of Santa Monica, California. No weapons, explosives, or materials used to make bombs were found in Darvish's procession or the Tesla vehicle, police said.

Darvish remains in custody at the John J. Benoit Detention Center, with his bail set at $1 million, according to police. Cathedral City police are investigating Darvish’s activities related to his contact with the Rancho Mirage casino.

No charges were filed against Darvish as of April 13.
